Ingredients:

For the Patties:

  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

For Assembling:

  • 4 hamburger buns

  • Lettuce leaves

  • Sliced tomatoes

  • Sliced red onions

  • Pickles Cheese slices (optional) K

  • etchup and mustard (or your preferred condiments)

  • Cooking oil (for grilling or pan-frying)

Instructions:

  • Prepare the Patties: In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Gently mix without overworking the meat. Form the mixture into four patties, slightly larger than the bun size. Create a dimple in the center of each patty to prevent excessive puffing during cooking.

  • Heat the Grill or Pan: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or place a stovetop pan over medium-high heat. Grease the grill grates or pan with a touch of cooking oil.

  • Cook the Patties: Place the patties on the grill or in the pan. Cook for approximately 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, 4-5 minutes per side for medium, or longer if you prefer your burgers more well-done. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover the grill or pan to allow it to melt.

  • Toast the Buns: While the patties are cooking, slice the hamburger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster until they are golden brown.

  • Assemble the Burgers: Start with the bottom half of each bun and layer on some lettuce leaves. Place a cooked patty with or without cheese on top of the lettuce. Add sliced tomatoes, red onions, and pickles to your liking. Spread ketchup, mustard, or your favorite condiments on the top half of the bun.

  • Complete the Burgers: Place the top bun over the assembled ingredients to complete your burger.

  • Serve: Serve your classic beef burgers hot and enjoy them with your favorite side dishes like french fries, coleslaw, or a simple green salad.

This classic beef burger recipe guarantees a mouthwatering, homemade burger that's sure to satisfy your burger cravings. Customize it with your favorite toppings and savor every delicious bite.
